Who we are
deepusoman.com ("this site") is the personal technology blog of Deepu Soman. For any privacy question, contact hello@deepusoman.com.
What we collect
- Nothing, by default. Reading articles requires no account and no personal data. Your theme preference and cookie choice are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) and never transmitted.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by our email service provider solely to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing deletes you from the list.
- Contact. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is free to read and is supported by advertising. When advertising is active, we use Google AdSense, and Google (as a third-party vendor) uses cookies to serve ads:
- Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or broadly via aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the EEA/UK are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, and can decline. Declining never blocks content.
- See how Google uses data from partner sites.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links (marked on the Toolbox page) are affiliate links. If you make a purchase after clicking one, this site may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies on their domains; their privacy policies apply there.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled, we prefer privacy-friendly, cookie-less tools that collect aggregate statistics only (pages viewed, referrer, country). No cross-site tracking profiles are built by us.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA and similar), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold (which, for most visitors, is none). Email hello@deepusoman.com and we'll act on any valid request promptly.
Changes
We'll update this page when practices change and adjust the date above. Material changes to advertising or data collection will be reflected in the consent flow.
